Wine lovers can taste the newest, fruitiest varieties of wine during the Bucks County Wine Trail’s annual Nouveau event, which is set for the weekend of Nov. 11-12.
Nouveau wines are bottled young with little aging, offering light and sweet tastes. As is tradition in the Beaujolais region of France, three of our Bucks County wineries offer their own version of these wines fresh from harvest.
Buckingham Valley Vineyards will re-release an old favorite – Nouvelle, a white wine. The winery made this popular variety years ago and guests continue to ask for it. Winemaker Jerry Forest is bringing it back for the celebration. Jerry will also bake his family recipe for crowd-pleasing onion bread to pair with the sweet wines of the harvest season. A $5 tasting fee applies. The tasting room is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Crossing Vineyards & Winery will hold its Le Nouveau Festival on Nov. 11-12. Guests can enjoy live music both days from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Wine tastings will be available by the glass and bottle. Visitors can also pair a glass of 2017 Le Nouveau with a cheese and Charcuterie board for $18 (advance purchase) or $20 at the event.
Rushland Ridge Vineyard & Winery will offer wine and chocolate pairings during Nouveau weekend. A $5 tasting fee applies. The tasting room is open Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m.
